Sierra Leone’s Augustus Williams was delighted with his double in LA Galaxy’s 3-2 win over Portland Timbers 2 at Providence Park on contest Wednesday.
Williams opened the score in the 13th minute for the away side with a right-footed shot. Assisted by Adrián Vera with a cross.
Jonathan Perez scored his first goal of the 2020 season to give Galaxy 2-1 lead in the 78th-minute.
He completed his brace in the 94th minutes from a similar fashion receiving a cross from the right to slot in.
Portland Timbers, who entered Wednesday’s contest winless in their 12 matches, scored twice from Max Ornstil and Aaron Molloy in the 69th, and 98 minutes but was enough to rescue a point.
Williams, who was in good spirits after last night’s win, shared his delight with FSL News.
“I believed I am in good form, feeling good and confident. The team believe I can get the job done, so does the coach,” Williams to FSL News.
“I am delighted because the team trusted me. And that gives me more confident to execute for the team whenever I can.”
