• Sierra Leone native Josh Koroma scored the leveller from outside the box against Manchester United’s Under-23 in their pre-season tie on Saturday.

Huddersfield Town forward Josh Koroma was part of the side that shared six goals with Manchester United’s Under-23s in an entertaining pre-season friendly at The John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

In his post-match interview, Koroma expressed his delight after he rescued his side from defeat.

Koroma, who looked a threat from the right-wing throughout was key to Town’s come-back after the Reds’ youngsters had raced into an early 2-0 lead.

“It was very competitive. We went 2-0 unfortunate down, we could have gone under, but we didn’t. I think a draw was a fair result,” Koroma to club’s website.

Having spent the second half of last season on loan at Rotherham United, Josh has returned to Town this summer and featured in both of the Terriers’ pre-season outings, adding 65 minutes against United to the 45 he completed in midweek.

The young forward was happy to get more minutes and provide some goal contributions ahead of next weekend’s season opener against Rochdale.

“You always want to be scoring and assisting as an attacker. I’m just happy that I can help the team and hopefully, I can kick on from here.”

Koroma, 21 will be hoping he be part of Town’s opening game of the 2020/21 season, that Carabao Cup First Round tie against the Dale on Saturday.

The match will also be new Head Coach Carlos Corberán first competitive game in charge.
