Sierra Leone’s Group L opponent, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have announced two friendly matches against Cote d’Ivoire and Tunisia in Austria next month.
Ahead of Sierra Leone double-header, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick has confirmed that the Super Eagles would face Cote d’Ivoire on October 9 and four days later take on Tunisia.
The continental football body, CAF last month confirmed November for the resumption of the AFCON qualifiers in the race to Cameroon 2022.
While the Super Eagles of Nigeria will end their 10-month wait from international football next month, Sierra Leone waits for top International friendly continues.
The Leone Stars last match was a 1-0 defeat to the Squirrels of Benin in Matchday two of the African Cup of Nations Qualifiers in November 2019.
Nigeria is expected to host Sierra Leone at the 22,000 seated Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba before travelling to Freetown for the return fixture set for Freetown Siaka Steven Stadium.
The Super Eagles are leading Group L after their opening two victories against Benin and Lesotho. The Squirrels of the Benin Republic standing second followed by Lesotho.
…On the 9th of October, the Super Eagles will play former African champions, Cote D'Ivoire in a friendly game, then face another African giant and former champions Tunisia, four days later, on the 13th.
Both games will be held in Austria for a few obvious reasons….
