- Ishmael Koroma says he was ecstatic after his Swedish side Vasalunds IF won the 2020 Ettan Norra Divison 1 season.
- The first major achievement of his playing career as they ended the season as champions with 69th points and Koroma says he was ‘over the moon’ with his team’s achievement and development.
The team was impressive under head coach Dalibor Savic’s responsibility and has been almost unbeatable as they registered 88 goals a record in Ettan Division 1 Norra.
Koroma, 24, who made 15 appearances in all competitions having played less than expected stated he was elated at the prospect of playing the second league in Sweden next season after promoted.
“We played well through the season to get enough points, work as a team and because of that, we are overall champions,” the former Atvidabergs FF man told FSL News.
“An amazing feeling to be a champion with Vasalund. I must state I am proud despite not having a great season in terms of more games I would have loved to but winning our group as champions must be every player’s dream.”
“I am relishing the prospect of the Swedish Superettan. My contract will finish in November, but hopefully, I will be discussing my future after the festive holidays.”
“It’s something special as I have always wanted to be a champion where ever I go or play.”
The new Swedish season will commence in March 2021, and Koroma can’t wait to start at the second-highest level of Swedish football.
“I am so looking forward to helping the team in the best way possible when the new season starts in March.”
