Abu Kamara pens first pro deal with English side Norwich City

Norwich City Academy striker Abu Kamara is the second striker with a Sierra Leonean name to have signed for the club.
The youngster, who signed his professional contract until summer 2023, has been sensational in recent weeks.

A few weeks ago, he scored a hat-trick in the FA Youth Cup third round against Wolverhampton Wanderers, guiding the young Canaries to a 4-2 win and into the fourth round against West Ham United.

But he is not the first striker with a Kamara family name for the club. In 2013, Kei Kamara joined the Canaries from Sporting Kansan City on loan.

The forward has made an impact for City’s Under-18s this season, which has subsequently earned him cameo appearances in David Wright’s Under-23s side in Premier League 2.

The striker has scored three goals and made one assist in the U18 Premier League in ten appearances, whilst scoring one in four substitute appearances for the U23s.

Speaking on putting pen-to-paper to the club’s website, Kamara described the moment as a ‘massive achievement’.
