• Sierra Leone FA president, Isha Johnsen, has been elected as one of the Confederation of African Football executive members to Fifa’s powerful decision body.

Johansen, who was the first woman to serve on FIFA’s Security and Integrity Committee, collected 28 votes surpassing Burundi’s Lydia Nsekera with four votes during the 43rd CAF General Assembly, meeting March 12, 2021, in Rabat, Morocco.

In 2013, Johansen, elected as the SLFA’s boss unopposed, will serve a four-year term in the new FIFA Council.

A total of 37 members will make up the new FIFA Council, one president elected by the FIFA Congress, eight vice presidents and 28 other new members, each serving a four years term.
