FC Johansen secured its first win in their opening fixture of the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League against Kamboi Eagles at the BO Mini stadium over the weekend.

Melvin Davies scored the only goal in the 87th-minute, his second goal against Kamboi Eagles. Last season, he was on target against the Eagles to stop their unbeaten run during the 2019/20 League season.

Abdulai Bah Head Coach FC Johansen express his delight after securing maximum point away to Kamboi Eagles in their season opener.

“I felt happy to win against a team with the tendency of winning the league. It’s a good step for us to challenge for this year’s title, ” Bah told FSL News.

Bah further noted that they put up a brave fight until the end of the match, as such display yields the dividend.

FC Johansen next outing is against Sierra Leone Police on 2nd May at the National Stadium.

On the same day, Central Parade stunned Diamond Stars with a 1-0 win in the Eastern Province town of Sierras Leone.

Kassim Turay, the skipper in the Number 6 jersey, scored from a 35-yeards shot. Their second win over Diamond Stars in three years.

Wusum Stars played to a barren draw against the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces at home.
