Sierra Queens skipper Rashida Kamara will continue her soccer adventure with the Armenian women’s championship club Noravank SC.
The Sierra Leone international defender told this medium that it means the world to her, trading her career for the first time outside Africa in a 2-year deal.
Kamara has been an instrumental figure in neighbouring Liberia, where she has been helping Liberia female division side World Girls FC during the 2020/21 league season.
A well-recognised player on the pitch, she provided 15 assists, seven goals in all competitions.
Her most notable season was in 2019 when she was awarded the Best Defender award in the Liberia league after she helped Earth Angels seal their double championship.
“I am delighted in joining Noravank in the Armenian women’s championship. A dream come true, and this means the world to me,” she told FSL news.
The club announced the news on their Facebook page. “Look who has arrived in Armenia. Sierra Leone senior Rashida Kamara of the national team of women is already in Armenia.
“We are pleased to announce that Rashida Kamara is joining the Noravank Girls team, and we are sure that she will have a direct impact on the team’s success and great victories. Welcome to Noravank big family, Rashida.”
