The Gambia Female Scorpions needed two second-half goals to beat their counterpart Sierra Queens in Liberia on Monday.
The tie was the first of the two-legged Total Energies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco, 2021 qualifiers played at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
After a goalless first half, goals from Ola Buwaro 53rd-minute and Ruggy Joof 77th-minute have given the visitors a massive advantage ahead of the return fixture in the Gambia.
The Women’s Cup of Nations Qualifiers is also the qualifiers of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia-New Zealand 2023.
The return fixture will be played at the Independence Stadium (Bakau) in The Gambia on the 24th of October.
