One of Sierra Leone outstanding players at the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, Mohamed Kamara, says he is excited to restart local football with his club East End Lions.
The Killers is one of the most decorated football outfits in the country – they’re presently two points adrift from leaders Bo Rangers on the log.
Lions will resume their campaign as they lock horns against Central Parade on Friday at the Siaka Steven Stadium, a game Kamara will be hoping his side can win.
The 22-year-old was named Man of the Match in Sierra Leone draw with Algeria on January 11 at the Japoma Stadium, thanks to a brave display that saw him frustrate one of the tournament’s favourites.
He saved a vital spot-kick against the Ivory Coast that saw the Leone Stars rallied to a 2-2 draw at the Japoma Stadium.
“I have been working with the team since returning from the African Cup of Nations getting ready for the second phase of the season,” Kamara told FSL News.
“I have to be honest, I am excited after the AFCON, to start again fighting for the title in Sierra Leone. This is the league that makes me who I am today. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s game.”
A win will see the East End giant club go top until after Bo Rangers start their campaign against Sierra leone Police on Saturday.
Kamara helped East End Lions win the 2018/2019 season unbeaten, four points ahead of FC Kallon.
