The 2022 Confederation Cup final will be played at the 30,000 capacity Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, on Friday, 20 May 2022.

Caf announced that the stadium to host its first intercontinental finals.

The capital of Akwa Ibom State stadium is the home of Nigeria’s Premier League side Akwa United where the Super Eagles have played a few friendlies and crucial qualifiers.

The final will arguably be the biggest football match to grace the stadium as it has never played host to any International Cup fixtures.

The last TotalEnergies Confederation Cup final was hosted in Cotonou, Benin, where Morocco’s Raja Club Athletic beat Algerian side JS Kabylie 2-1.
