The Sierra Leone Football Association President Thomas Daddy Brima, Vice President 1 Harold Nat-Johnson and the Executive Committee on Friday, April 7, bid farewell to three UEFA Assist experts following a two-day training of female football stakeholders at the Atlantic Lumley Hotel in Freetown.
The three experts were Monika Staab, a Women’s Football Director in Saudi Arabia, Jules MCgeever, a UEFA Marketing Expert and Eva Pasquier, Head of International Relations at UEFA.
This comes after the Sierra Leone Football Association partnering with UEFA, successfully concluded a two-day training workshop for female football administrators, coaches, female sports journalists and referees at the Atlantic Lumley Hotel in Freetown on Thursday, April 6.
Over thirty-five (35) women drawn from Female Premier League clubs, media, and regional and district associations across the country benefited from the workshop.
The SLFA says the farewell ceremony was preceded by thorough deliberations on issues affecting the growth of women’s football in the country, which led to establishing an inclusive action plan with clear timelines.
Also present in the discussions was a cross-section of the training participants who were allowed to pass on their concerns, questions and suggestions to the leadership of the FA.
In his farewell speech, President Brima expressed his commitment to fully implement all recommendations put forward by UEFA Assist to ensure rapid development in the women’s football sector.
