Italia Serie B side FC Crotone have confirmed the signing of Sierra Leone youngster Augustus Kargbo on a technical training contract.
The youngster who had a spell with Campobasso in the Italia Serie D signed a technical training contract with FC Crotone which was confirmed on the club website.
“Born in 1999, Augustus will turn 19 on the 24th of August. He is a promising young striker born in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Last season, he played for Campobasso in Serie D, scoring 6 goals in 20 matches,” the club said in a statement.
The excited, humble and with a great desire to do and learn, said he is delighted to be a player for the Serie B club.
He told the clubs website: “I’m happy to be a player for Crotone, it’s a dream. I thank the company for the trust, and I make myself available to grow and learn, always remaining down to earth.”
Kargbo, who has already been dubbed by a section of the Italian media as the ‘New Mohamed Kallon’ was said to have risen to the limelight in the Viareggio tournament against Empoli.
