Tottenham have released Sierra Leone International Kallum Cesay, among others, ahead of the 2023/24 season.

“We can also confirm the departures of Development Squad players Jamie Bowden, Kallum Cesay, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, Roshaun Mathurin, Marqes Muir and Romaine Mundle following the conclusion of their contracts.

Under-18 players Thomas Bloxham, Brandon Bryan-Waugh and Riley Owen have also departed following the conclusion of their scholarships.
We wish them all the best in the next stage of their careers,” the club announced on Thursday.

Kallum Cesay, 20, who made his Sierra Leone debut in March 2022, scoring a match-winning brace on his debut to secure a 2-1 win over Congo-Brazzaville, previously played for West Ham United.

He scored two goals in 15 appearances in all competitions for our Under-18s in 2019/20, then added another four goals in 18 appearances at that level in 2020/21 while stepping up to feature once for our Development Squad in the Premier League 2.

The 2021/22 campaign was an eventful one for Kallum, who featured for our first team in pre-season before being named as a substitute in two matches in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

In the just concluded campaign, Kallum made 24 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur U 21 Premier League 2 Division One side.

George Davies nets as Flyeralarm Admira survive relegation

Sierra Leone International George Davies helped his side Flyeralarm Admira survive Austrian 2liga relegation with a goal in their 3-0 win over Vorwarts Steyr on Sunday.

Davies, 26, who joined the Austrian side in December 2022, has been a pivotal figure since he penned a deal until summer 2024.

The midfielder was in action as Flyeralarm Admira SK defeated Vorwarts Steyr at home in the 30th and last round of the Admiral 2nd Division and thus avoid relegation.

In front of 5,200 spectators, both teams felt each other out in the early stages. There was a hard fight for every ball, but there were no chances to score in the first 45 minutes.

All three goals were scored in the second half after a goalless first half.

Malcisek converted a pass from Schmidt with a burst and gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead in the 75th-minutes before Davies doubled their lead, and Schmidt (96th) scored the final goal in added time.

Before his move, Davies has already played 58 Bundesliga and 44 second-division games in Austria.

“Delighted to get my first goal in such a big game. The club president and coaches emphasized how important these last two games are in the clubs’ history,” the attacking midfielder told FSL News.

“To be able to score and assist last night was great, but what I am most happy about – was that we got the win. We now go into the 2nd leg on Saturday with a 2-0 lead as we look to secure our spot in the Montenegrin first league next season.”

Coventry City confirm Fankaty Dabo’s release

Coventry City confirm Fankaty Dabo’s release

Sierra Leone native Fankaty Dabo has been released by championship side Coventry City a few after they failed to qualify to the Premier League.

The news comes just three days after he missed the deciding penalty in their Championship play-off final defeat to Luton on Saturday.

“Fankaty Dabo, Julien Dacosta, Todd Kane, Sean Maguire, Michael Rose, Martyn Waghorn and Tyler Walker will all leave the Sky Blues following the conclusion of their contracts,” the club said in a statement.

He joined the Sky Blues in June 2019 and would be a key part of the side that won the 2019/20 League One title, earning the Player of the Year award in the campaign too. Moving with the Club up to the Championship, Dabo remained a popular figure with fans, players and staff alike and would go on to make a total of 131 appearances for Coventry City.

After a 1-1 draw in normal and extra-time at Wembley on Saturday, it was down to penalties to settle the winner to gain Premier League promotion.

Each side’s first five spot-kicks were all converted, with Luton’s Dan Potts scoring at the start of sudden death.

Dabo stepped up for Coventry to keep their promotion hopes alive. But he sent his effort high and wide of the goal.

Following his penalty miss, Dabo was, unfortunately, the subject of racist abuse on social media.

statement from Coventry said: “Coventry City is sickened and saddened following the racist messages sent to Fankaty Dabo on social media following Saturday’s Play-Off Final.
