Former Sierra Leone captain Ibrahim Obreh Kargbo is over the moon after his son a former Crystal Palace youth player penned a three-and-half year deal with Ukrainian top-flight side FK Dynamo Kyiv after leaving Belgian club KSV Roeselare.

Ibrahim Kargbo Jnr, 19, who recently featured for the Belgian Red Devils U18 in a friendly four-country tournament in Murcia (Spain), last played for Lierse Kempenzonen on loan from Roeselare.

The young attacker is still eligible to play for Sierra Leone despite representing Belgium at youth level.

Dad’s Kargbo said: “I’m delighted that he’s getting the opportunity to play at the top level at a young age. It is one those chances any father will celebrate, but maintained that his son has to focus if he is to excel and learn the trade,” He told FSL Media.

“My son Ibrahim Kargbo junior has been presented with a great opportunity to progress in his career. As a parent, I couldn’t be happier for him.”

In June 2016, the youngster father confirmed that Crystal Palace completed the signing of his son and was drafted immediately to Premier League side Under 17 and 18 squad.

At the age of eight, Kargbo Jr. moved with his family to Belgium, where he started studying at Beershot School.

Kargbo Jr. has also had a spell with Reading youth sides U-13 and U-16 where he continues to excel before his move to Palace.
