Abu Kamara was pleased after Portsmouth’s debut

Abu Kamara, 19, was one of the four debutants for Portsmouth Football Club in their 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers in the English League One opener on Saturday.

The on-loan Norwich youngster was a threat in the last 25 minutes when he was subbed on in the 65th minute.

Kamara, on his official Instagram page, to express himself.

“Happy to make my Pompey debut! Thanks to the fans for a warm welcome, Onto the next.”

The attacker, who signed on a season-long loan deal from Norwich, was named in John Mousinho’s first-team squad but started on the bench.

Kusini Yengi subbed on to score a dramatic last-gasp equaliser for Pompey against Bristol Rovers.

Luke Thomas netted midway through the first half for the Gas, and that looked to be enough to earn them a first win at Fratton Park since 1975.

A vital goal from debutant Yengi after he converted a Joe Rafferty cross at the death to ensure the Blues earned an opening day point.

Amadou Bakayoko makes Dundee debut in League Cup win

On Sunday, Sierra Leone International Amadou Bakayoko made his Dundee debut in their 1-0 win over Inverness CT in the Scottish Viaplay Cup qualifier.

Despite the win, they were knocked out of the Scottish Viaplay Cup at the Kilmac Stadium. Dundee’s Zach Robinson scored the winning goal after an hour.

The Dee’s new acquisition, Bakayoko, was introduced in the 46th minute to replace Scott Tiffoney. However, despite his presence, they were unable to find the second goal that would have taken them through to the last 16.

Bakayoko, however, thrilled the watch fans after his 18 yards shot that was saved by Ridgers prevented him from claiming a debut goal with a fierce rising shot.

The single-goal margin of victory meant the Dark Blues were pipped by Raith Rovers, who had the same goal difference but scored one more goal.

Inverness, who were already out of the running for the last 16, had been the better side for long spells and threatened through Billy Mckay and Austin Samuels.

THE DRAW FOR THE LAST 16 OF THE VIAPLAY CUP IS AS FOLLOWS:

          Hibernian v Raith Rovers

          Stirling Albion v Aberdeen

          Airdrieonians v Ross County

          St Mirren v Motherwell

          Rangers v Greenock Morton

          Kilmarnock v Celtic

Heart of Midlothian v Partick Thistle

          Livingston v Ayr United

Ties are to be played the weekend of August 19/20 and are subject to TV selections.
